Botox Treatment In Florida
Botox has become a well used cosmetic enhancement over the last few years by ridding people of age line and wrinkles but how much do you know about Botox. In order to appreciate just what botox is we need a brief history lesson into its discovery, quite a while ago now.
Used originally for disorders of the brain, botox was first studied back in the early 1960’s and derived from the now famous poison Botulinum toxin. It wasn’t until around 1989 that the Federal Drug Administration agreed to allow its use in medical procedures to help people with disorders of the eye like those that cause uncontrollable blinking and crossed eyes.
By the new millennium botox had been approved for a number of other conditions including one where severe neck and shoulder contractions were causing discomfort to a number of people. The strange discovery they made quite by accident was one that help to reduce the visible lines between the eyebrows and after this in 2002 the FDA approved it’s use on this condition, botox as a cosmetic procedure, was born.

Now botox is injected into a number of areas, one of which is the forehead to help lessen the effect of years of the muscles here causing frown lines to appear. Continued treatments mean in many cases the lines disappear and now the same treatment is used on other areas of the face like the crows’ feet, laughter lines and other facial wrinkles.
Botox injections are a purified and watered down version of the sometimes fatal Botulinum poison and because of the purification process can be used in cosmetic surgery. The popularity of botox is due to the fact that we all have wrinkles and lines when we smile, laugh and make other facial gestures which are the result of muscles in the face.
Botox is able to take back for a temporary period all those years of lines, creases and wrinkles that have formed from the use of our facial muscles; a problem we do not have when we are young. After being injected into the effected area, it temporarily paralyzes these muscles so that you can’t make these expressions and that’s why people who have had Botox injections can look like mannequins.
Because frown line, wrinkles and facial creases have all but disappeared, it provides the user with a look of someone much younger. Botox treatment is expensive with the average cost of just one Botox injection in the United States ranging from a few hundred dollars to in excess of 1,000 dollars depending on where the injection is used.
The side-effects of regular botox use may take some time to appear as it is only a recent addition to the cosmetic surgeon’s armory but for now, its use does not seem to be diminishing.
